Since spring 2022 we have not only been manufacturing books, but also honey. Under the motto "A good book needs something sweet", from May until July our new and hard-working little helpers produce honey for GGP Media GmbH and PSC Print Service Center GmbH. In this way, we are setting another example of environmental protection as our corporate responsibility.

Three colonies of bees, that's 150,000 bees actively collecting flower nectar within a 3 km radius to produce this delicious honey spread for our staff and customers. They are assisted with the production by a professional beekeeper - a former colleague from GGP Media GmbH’s bindery. Thomas Gäbler is the head of our honey production site and thus responsible for the harvest and the distinctive taste.

Corporate Responsibility

Why bees get new living space with us?

Many wild plants and about one third of all food crops (such as apples, nuts, tomatoes and strawberries) depend on pollination by bees.

It is primarily our native wild and cultivated plants that serve as our bees' most important food source. Without them, no fruits or vegetables would be produced. Bees are therefore important for the entire ecosystem, not just as a honey provider for us humans.

"Once the bee disappears from the earth, man has only four years to live. No more bees, no more pollination, no more plants, no more animals, no more man."(Albert Einstein)

Did you know that...
... our little bees fly around the world one to three times to collect three kilograms of nectar necessary to produce one kilogram of honey? In doing so they cover a distance of 40,000 to 120,000 km what a feat!
