Cradle to Cradle Certified®
We work with our customers to develop print products that take circular design principles into account where feasible. Selected products in our portfolio have been certified at the Bronze level under the Cradle to Cradle Certified® standard since 2021.
The Cradle to Cradle Certified® framework focuses on the evaluation of products and materials with regard to circularity, material health and responsible resource use.
It distinguishes between two types of cycles:
- Biological cycle: Materials are designed to safely return to biological systems after use.
- Technical cycle: Materials are designed to remain in use through reuse, recycling or other recovery processes.
The concept aims to support the continued use of materials and reduce the demand for virgin resources.
Certification Evaluation Criteria
The Cradle to Cradle Certified® standard assesses products across several categories, including:
- Material Health – Evaluation of the chemical composition and potential impacts of materials
- Product Circularity – Assessment of design approaches supporting reuse, recycling or material recovery
- Clean Air & Climate Protection – Assessment of renewable energy use and greenhouse gas management
- Water & Soil Stewardship – Evaluation of responsible water and soil management practices
- Social Fairness – Assessment of social responsibility and related practices
